Morpeth is the ideal touring base for a holiday in Northumberland, being centrally placed in the county. All of the spectacular countryside of the county is within an hour's drive at most.

Directions:
From A1 Northbound
Take A192 slip road at Stannington, signposted Morpeth. Follow A192 into central Morpeth. Following signs for A1 North will take you along Bridge Street and right into Newgate Street. Going up the hill, you will pass some traffic lights - look for "The Sour Grapes" on your right, and Lansdown House is next door.

From A1 Southbound Take A192 slip road at Fairmoor, signposted Morpeth, passing a Jet station on your left. Continue a mile or so, down the hill into Newgate Street. Lansdown House is just 100m or so past the double bend as you come down the hill. If you see "The Sour grapes" on your left, you just missed us!
