Lovely quiet place:

Travelled from Portsmouth to Newcastle on my first visit. Was booked in by a colleague so did not know what it was like. Great friendly welcome, told about 3 or 4 places to eat in the evening, even where football was live on tv. Lovely room with a kitchen next door, tv etc lovely and quiet, not like hotels. Breakfast was traditional northern breakfast far to much!!

A home-from-home

My Girlfriend and I were recommended this charming B & B by 4 friends of ours who had stayed at Lansdown House in March of this year. We were welcomed in to 1 of 3 beautifully appointed rooms. The on suite facilities were ideal, the rooms cosy and the breakfast was fantastic. The Land Lady was incredibly helpful at all times and especially when it came to recommending several very good restaurants within a couple of hundred yards walk. Lansdown House is a lovely bespoke B & B of the highest standard witch oozes charm and character in the beautiful little market town of Morpeth - Highly Recommended!

Brilliant!

Have to say we stayed here and had a fantastic time. The rooms were lovely...very clean and comfortable, and the owner couldn't do enough for us...we were even invited to join in when they had a barbie. The garden and yard are fabulous....you could be in France!! The chickens roaming free were lovely and the paths were power hosed daily. Highly recommended!!!

A little oasis:

The Lansdown is a great find - I stay here roughly once every 2 months as our company has an office close by. My experience of the Lansdown has been great - it's location is superb (only a short walk from Morpeth centre) yet once you come through the main gates, you are surrounded by a tranquil courtyard (ideal to sip a beer on a summers evening) - a perfect oasis !
The rooms are very nice, classic but with a contemporary twist (lcd tv etc) and Lesley does a mean bacon sandwich in the morning !
Good dining / drinking at The Grapes (literally 2 doors down the street) and the Tapas bar on the corner (about 200 yds). Morpeth itself is about a 4-5 minute stroll and has some really nice shops, bars and restaurants.
As the Sales Director for an international fabric company, I travel extensively, particularly in Western /Northern Europe and stay in a lot of faceless 'chain' hotels, which always feel very sterile and soulless - the Lansddown offers something a little bit different and myself and my visiting colleagues always look forward to a stay there
